“APSU’s mission is to harness the collective expertise, intellectual property and infrastructure of our group, and to grow our continued market share in both the UK and other countries in which we choose to operate.
We aim to deliver consistently strong results for our shareholders; to attract and retain customers through providing best-in-class customer service, support and solutions; and to be an employer of choice. We accomplish this by striving relentlessly to be a leader rather than follower in the managed-services industry.”
APSU was established in 2011 following a merger between Apex Computers International Ltd (formed in 1989), an IBM mid-market infrastructure business, and AssurIT (formed in 1996), an IBM managed services company.
APSU is a technology pioneer delivering cloud-based services into the IBM mid-range market before any other company. Working in conjunction with IBM, APSU provides a fully managed high-availability service known as VSRi (Virtual Server Recovery for IBM i), under a worldwide agreement with IBM.
Viewed by IBM as a strategic partner with board representation on IBM’s Worldwide Advisory Councils, the company has an impressive technical pedigree. It is the highest accredited Business Partner in Europe and is elite in the channel; sitting at the number one position for Power Systems (i and AIX), PureFlex and Enterprise Storage.
APSU’s service portfolio also includes technical consultancy, procurement, managed services, in-store and on-line retail solutions, cloud hosting and physical co-location.
Partnerships with other vendors have been developed to ensure multiple routes to market. These include Cisco, HP, Microsoft and VMware, together with Interoute, Europe’s largest cloud services platform provider. APSU has also cemented business relationships with independent software vendors (ISVs); these relationships provide the potential to win new business in America and in continental Europe.
The company has enjoyed significant growth, with a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 129 per cent in the last three years. APSU is the fastest growing IT company (Sunday Times Tech Track 100) in the south-west of England and ranked number 20 overall in the UK.
APSU is headquartered in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, and has physical data centres in Cirencester and Coventry with rack space allocation in London, Newport and Warwick.
The company also delivers enterprise-class cloud services from virtual data centres (VDCs). The service is provisioned from five datacentres in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and Geneva with no data transfer charges between locations. With the recent acquisition by IBM of Softlayer, which provides cloud infrastructure on an Internet scale, APSU will be able to further increase its level of service in this area.
APSU is a trading name of APSU IT Limited and APSU Solutions Limited. Both companies are subsidiaries of APSU Holding Limited.
