APSU has won a fully managed, highly available System i Service contract with one of their existing customers. The client, who provides end-to-end Supply Chain Management to customers, is responsible for meeting strict SLA’s for their distribution and delivery service.

Due to logistically difficult processes, their IBM System i is the cornerstone of efficiently running key applications to ensure procedures are followed and goods are transported in the deadlines required.

APSU’s existing High Availability service to the client and the successful management of two key disasters that required failover over the past few years were key factors and resulted in the customer renewing the contract directly to APSU.

This new service will see APSU manage all logistics for a move from a target environment in Warwickshire to a datacenter in Berkshire as an interim service. The service will then turn to a fully managed contract with a System i ‘Cloud’ Service provided by APSU’s datacenter facilities in Coventry and Cirencester.

This unique, fully tested, highly flexible, 24 hr service will enable the client to operate efficiently, effectively and ensure their critical applications are available at all times.
